    pigs ( 3 different ones )

    apologies to floyd...

Actually *both* of those horns are 2380A's.

The original 2380 casting was the thick poly foam type and has a round foilcal.

The second casting type is the bottom pix above.

The current casting ( top pix ) has the added "ribs" near the driver mounting flange that made no difference in strength since they *still* snapped when a 30lb 2446 wiggled in the breeze...

I used to have a box of damaged horns outside the shop and the 2380A's seemed to be the most popular occupants. No amount of cabinet bracing or driver bracketing would prevent this since tiny air bubbles in the casting caused weak spots and the cracks would grow unseen until that important show.

This was a JBL blunder when they called the 2380A the updated version!!! Or was it???

The first version was and is the one to have as far as strength goes.

    "my bad"

Glad to have learned something. Guess I've never seen a 2380, only the two
versions of the 2380A (the non-gusseted one came w/ no sticker, and the seller
claimed it was a 2380... lame excuse). Looked like the kind of thing they'd add
    a suffix for.

    Thanks subwoof!
