    JBL L100S's Info Please

    Hello...

New to the site... Am now the proud owner of 2 sets of JBL speakers... One pair of L80T's and today snagged a pair of JBL L100S's ($45.00 and needing refoaming, otherwise near mint!!!). My back may have something to say in the mornig after I man handled them out of my car and into the garage... Looking for data on the L100S's. The searial numbers are J196-104091 and J196-104099.

    Thanks...

    omi

L100S - as I understand it, functionally the same as L100T, but vinyl covered cabinets instead of veneer? Nice score!

Yes...the L100S is a vinyl veneer version of the L100t. Sold primarily through military PX's. All specs are the same as L100t.

On that work bench.....Putting those tapes that close to the speaker is asking for trouble.

Good eye there with those tapes- I run into that sort of thing a lot in my house.

"No, please don't put my laptop there, that would be bad!"

    Thanks for all the intel....

    On the tapes...

I snagged a RtoR a bit back at a local TS in town and have come accross some boxes of tapes from time to time. Have not had a chance to set the RtoR up yet and was cleaning things up a bit, a few days ago... Have no idea if anything is on the tapes... Speaker is back in the cab now and need to do a sound test... My "garage" system is a small Technics... The "big" dog is in the house...

Grills are on the work bench... The grills are in perfect shape. The fabric has a spot or 2 and some discoloration due to age. I will replace the fabric. Have a bit of black fabric left, but have not checked to it see if I have enough... A weekend small project. May look tonight and might have to order another yard...
