    2425 throat shape

I need to know the precise shape and dimension of the conical ( I suppose ) segment leading to jbl 2425 or 2426 compression driver 1" exit and would appreciate help for such information. Thanks.

    Hi

the conical ( I suppose ) segment leading to jbl 2425 or 2426 compression driver 1" exit .
    - I assume you mean the portion of the throat that begins where the phase-plug ends and then ends where the throat actually exits the body of the driver ( at the @ 1" wide opening ) .

    - It may look conical but it's supposedly exponential .

    FWIW :
    - The TAD 2001 ( modelled on the 2420 driver ) has a flare rate for its' throat section , that is equal to the first few mm of a full 350 Hz exponential horn.
    - That's as much as I can help .

    Thanks Earl,

indeed that's what I meant; didn't know TAD 2001's throat had been modelled on the 2420; after all , JBL 2440 were themselves clones of the WE 594...
Well, this may help me redesign a 2346 horn with smoother transitions with the compression driver.
