Way too much money!!
Even for such a speaker
Hello Guido, and in Deutschland, s4800 is available ?
Lot's of money for most, but not all. Otherwise there wouldn't be a market for it. Even if you can not afford it, it's still nice to look at.
I'm sure they are available here in germany but did never try to get them.
I do really prefer the older design's and of course I prefer DIY. My crossovers are way better then the stock ones
I know this for sure since I found electrolytic caps in my 250ti network. But biased ones are in production
BTW the S series speakers use these cheap elkos too
Does anybody have any information about the 12" driver used in that loudspeaker? Is it avail to buy?
How is time alignment between individual drivers achieved on a speaker like this one? Can it be done properly with a passive crossover?

15" 1500Fe and yes it is available to buy.

Don't worry about it. Do you think the 4333 or L300 was time aligned? (Actually the list is considerably more substantial and not worth my time posting).
Can it be done properly with a passive crossover?
No.
Look through here for the tech sheet:

Thanks for posting the info, Lancer. Any idea what the performance differences are between the 1500FE and the 1500AL? Has anyone listened to both and compared them? Do you have similar specs for the 1500AL?
By the way, are you posting the results of the DIY forum survey somewhere?
Yes, both are current product and I decline to make further comments.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking.
Sorry, I thought you were polling members as to whether or not they wanted to see a new sub-forum devoted to DIY projects. My bad.Originally Posted by Lancer

I just voted!
I was disappointed to see that there wasn't a "Hell Yes!" option.
She should also have made it so we could see who all voted already.
Oops!! You're right! Now how'd I make that mistake?Originally Posted by Lancer
Very nice to look at! I think it is a very attractive design. It may not be as striking as the 250Ti or even the K2-S9800... but it isn't as goofy looking either.Originally Posted by Wardsweb

I have to agree. I saw them in person in 2003 and they are my favourite industrial design of all of the recent "S" series speakers. With the grills on, they are a very understated design that I think is more elegant than the S9800/S5800 etc.
