    150-4C or LE15A for Paragon

I'm looking for recommendations for which driver to use in a Paragon I'm restoring. I have both the original 150-4C's and the LE15A's that are currently installed.

Also, I was wondering where I could get a dust cap for 150-4C one of them is missing its dust cap...

    Thanks,

    Alan

Can't help with the dust cap.... post a request in the Market Place? You can certainly get a similar one from JBL, but it won't be identical.

As for the LE15A-150-4C debate, read this. It was posted recently on another thread by clif.

I'd be interested in your observations with the comparison of both drivers.

I'm hoping to begin a restoration project on my Paragon later this summer and would love to see pics of your endeavor. I've got a pair of E145's and 136H "Frakenwoofers" to try in place of my 150's and I'm always on the lookout for a nice pair of LE15's.

Have the surrounds on the LE15's been restored and are the 150's cone's original?
I can't imagine a dustcap coming off a cone unless it was removed on purpose

    Keep us posted!

Well, we're not exactly sure why the cap was removed, we only know that it was. This Paragon has been messed with. The crossovers are all wrong, for one thing, and although we know the original N-500 are in the house somewhere, we have yet to find them. It's a BIG house. We found the original 150's upstairs in the attic.

We plan to bypass the original x-overs anyway, and triamp the system with external active x-overs. But it would be nice to know where the originals are in case we want to put it back to factory.

I'll snap some pics the next time I'm over there. I have some other surprises too. Let's just say that the attic is like a museum, not only for audio equipment (Altec, JBL, Jensen, Thorens), but also for model trains and classic projection equipment too....
