I have 2, NAD S200 amps in bridged mode, and they can
easily give you 1400 wats in 4 ohm ! They are 30 kilo beasts!
What do you power with ?

In my music set up I use a Hafler 9505 which is 250wpc 8 ohms but in my dual 2235Hs it is rated 375wpc 4 ohms. It has plenty of power and control. They claim a damping factor of 1000.
In my home theater set up I am using a JBL MPA600. It puts out over 600wpc into 4 ohms and on movie soundtracks with deep bass explosions etc. the clip indicators will start to lightly flicker if I am a little above THX reference, which does sound awesome!
3 of em in stereo @ 4 0hms a side. 2 in bridge mono @ 4 ohms!
Aloha
Amp...Altec 9440A.... that has been overhauled by Ira of IRATEC PRO AUDIO REPAIR. They were destined for the trash pile when I rescued them from a hotel.
Sub...Contra Bass.

I use nothing fancy just the Parts Express plate amps rated at 175W into 8 ohms. I have one per box to drive my LE-14A's. They sound much better than my AR 12" HT sub. Looks like I will build a 3 rd LE-14A sub for LFE to replace the HT sub. One of these days

I use a Mark Levinson No.336 ...Originally posted by Niklas Nord

BGW 750 can handle 4-15" drivers where other "higher" powered amps give out. They have stiff power supplies....large power transformer, and large filter caps with enough output transistors to allow 2 ohm loads with good smooth clean sound.
I use for my HT system a 18 "2240 h , in a ported box. Amplifier is a monoral DENON POA 4400 Model. The loudspeaker do not need more power ( 150 W) , but i am a little suspicious with deep bass response of this kind of "MidFi" and commercial amplifier....
I hope Audio research or Krell models shall be better...

QSC PLX 2402 (would like to have a 3402)
PLX SPECIFICATIONS PLX2402
STEREO MODE, Both Channels Driven
8 ohms 20 Hz-20 kHz 0.03% 425W
4 ohms 20 Hz-20 kHz 0.05% THD 700W
2 ohms 1 kHz 1% THD 1200W
Crest 9001s for the loud stuff. Its the real deal!!.A casual rating of 3300 watts a side at 2 ohms for a stereo total of 6600 watts. BGWs amplifiers are not bad either. At the other end of my listening spectrum ,the Hartsfields get a massive 3 watts of single ended power to each cabinet running in full range mode.

3300 watts, that is alot of power!
i then think you are the most powered audiophile
in the whole world!!
Niklas,
I thought you would appreciate this!

It is/was certainly big and loud.

For my larger systems I use two Crown MA3600vz, 1600 watts at 4 ohms per channel. For my small system a QSC Power Light 236,
1100 watts at 4 ohms per channel.
These are used in a medium sized PA system.

It seems it not unusual to drive with PA-amps,
the only drawback must be that some of them
makes noise and has a FAN that buuzzesszz
Though there are PA -amps that are as good as many
high end, OR better..
The Crown and QSC are GREAT i think.
