2370 and 2370A; what is the difference

between them? Just opened up two boxes, one 2370 and one 2370A. I am familiar with the 2370A, this one with a 2370 label looks quite different on the exterior, first glance did not show much difference in internal geometry.

Huh, that's interesting... a 2370 that is built like a 2370A. The 2370 I'm familiar with, is a multi-cellular flare, as shown here:

Guess they retained that number for the newer casting for awhile, before changing over to the 2370A nomenclature...

    Regards,

If I remember correctly, the designation change was when JBL changed vendors on the plastic; the original formula was a bit brittle and used to crack at the mounting holes or sometimes at the throat. They later changed to a slightly more durable polyurethane. Other than that I believe they are identical.

    Hello
It is just the plastic they are made from as Eric said. All of the flat front series of horns without the "A" are made from a thicker harder plastic.
