L26 oak veneer... white or red?

Good day, I'm trying to renovate some L26 boxes and one of them is very bad on the top, with no other solution than to re-glue some wood. I want to find the closest tone. I know it's oak and the finish is the famous blend of linseed oil and white spirit. But there is white oak and there is also red, I lean towards red, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone has more information about itthanks! and sorry for my bad english

Use white oak. Red oak is a lower cost alternative that is sometimes used in low cost furniture.
