    Thanks, again.

The "vampire bites" were actually fairly easy to smooth out with fingers and finger nails.

I appreciate the suggestion to swap diaphragms but the one that works, works fine and it has the original red-wax seals. Since I really only need one in good working order (have a really old one that's been working for decades) I think I'll use the good one and keep the "bad" one as eye candy around the house. The goal here being a sort of Franken 030 with LE175 added. Yeah, I know—if I had some 130As I'd be better off but the D130s have been in my house for nearly as long as I've been alive. It's a bit of nostalgia and I always felt there was a upper-mid "hole" in the 030. That's how I got started on EQs 45-years ago. Figured an LE175 could fill that hole.

Still need one clamp. Only ones I see are on Ebay and appear to be copper and are from Hungary.

I think the flat ribbon wire leads say it is an original. The China repro's are round wire. That has been my experience, at least from a few years ago.

Given one driver was un sealed and repaired it’s probably a lousy aftermarket diaphragm was fitted. A fix is to order a Radian diaphragm. If and when the good one dies replace that with a matching diaphragm. In the case of an aftermarket diaphragm l have measured significant frequency response and sensitivity differences to a stock JBL diaphragm.

Those original aluminium diaphragms were good back in the day but the surrounds were the weak link subjectively. They are what they are as the original parts in a sealed driver. The Radian diaphragm is superior subjectively. The choice is yours.

Here is what you can expect with the aftermarket diaphragms.

Size: 34.3 KBNot all aftermarket HF diaphragms are created equal. I'd suggest sticking with the Radians and ignoring the swell deals on eBay.

I did look up the Radians and noted the same diaphragm is listed for my LE175s as for my 4345 2425Js which are listed as 16-OHM and (if memory serves) measure around 7-OHM DCR. Radian offers both 8-ohm and 16-ohm. Anyone know how their DCRs measure? Which should I use? I'll try to contact them.

The Radian diaphragms are designed as a direct match for a studio monitor replacement diaphragm. Use the 16 ohm Radian diaphragm

    Check out the link below

    https://www.parts-express.com/pedocs...ions-44925.pdf

If you check out this spec sheet Radian states the 8 ohm impedance Radian 1225 replacement diaphragm has a dcr 3.3 ohm. The 16 ohm impedance 1225 diaphragm has a dcr of 8.00 ohms. These figures are directly compatible with the JBL D8R2425 and the D16R2425 diaphragms.
