    JBL C78 Alpha II

What electronics would have been in this? What is missing? The last image is from High Fidelity magazine 12/1968.

That was sold as an empty piece of furniture. There could have been a JBL SA600 integrated amp or almost any brand of audio gear in there.

    Interesting find.

I have the S70 Alpha speakers to go with your equipment cabinet. Ugly furniture and mediocre sound quality. A perfect match for yours!

Cool item anyway just for the nostalgia of it. From the days when your parent had a " hi Fi "
My Mom still has a cabinet hi fi...too funny.

It's true c70 and this c78 aren't the most attractive. The tops are too wide. I've never heard c70s. Passive radiated early L100s. Probably sound fine. Probably sound like 1968.

I like the rare JBL badges. I had never seen one of these before.

I'd like to put something in it. Something that fits the opening. Too bad there seems to be a piece of wood missing.

There is a light on the bottom front that is attached to the turntable power plug. I guess the turntable was getting power off the receiver. It has an antenna on the back. So there was a tuner.

I need to get the turntable serviced.

I think I'm going to put it between some walnut 4310s.
