    Legendary JBL 4343

    https://skyfiaudio.com/products/lege...e07152d0&_ss=r

Despite the view in some quarters around here that these old four way systems have had their day think again. Based on some statistics from enquiries l have received, the number of 43XX projects outside the USA over the last five years is equal to l that of 43XX projects in the USA posted here over the last twenty years. Really. Yes really. There’s a whole world out there beyond the Golden Gate Bridge. (No there’s not).

These four way systems still being discovered by astute music lovers looking to the past for genuine higher fidelity equipment. It’s a growing trend even in your own back yard!

Who wants to buy the next garage start up loudspeaker brand? Stereophile is full of advertising with that stuff. People are looking for authentic audio equipment.

That’s a great pick up Phil.

I’m in isolation. It got me in the end. Nothing better to do than be annoying.

The fact that this company also sells "snake oil" items like +$1k "premium" speaker cables would make me shy away from them anyways.

I don't think thats the point. Every real hifi shop sells very expensive cables.

    Its up to the individual.

They are the wrong ones. What do you expect for 16K!

There are lots of red flags here… regardless of price, I don’t see this is a good purchase.

Regarding the fact that they sell expensive speaker cables that I would never want my system, I wouldn’t hold that against them. There is nothing wrong with selling people what they want. I try to talk my friends and customers out of wasting money, but like so many things in life; you have to pick your battles. Once somebody is convinced on one side of an issue it is hard or impossible to change their mind.

    I’m out and about and l’m okay. I wouldn’t say l am 100%.

While was in isolation l determined l should retire and as a result become even more annoying..Lol.

Being called an old fuck makes me feel quite distinguished..Lol

On the recone thing l discovered l have a highly reputable loudspeaker repair/ reconing business on the Sunshine Coast called Queensland Speaker Repairs. They completely re built my 2245H woofers after some shipping damage. New spiders, new surrounds and a thorough check.

If your wondering where is the Sunshine Coast is it’s 1 hour 20 min north of Brisbane and stretches from Caloundra up to Noosa. We have beautiful ocean beaches, perfect weather most of the year and some scenic national parks nearby. The wet season brings storms and sometimes cyclones to the north around Cairns which is 1000 km further up and floods to the south down in Brisbane as you may have heard about.

We do have an accent down here apparently. Ken says a sound like Keith Urban.

Finally, a source for those rare 511Bs and only 800 bucks. No doubt they've been curated too. I breathe easier.

Very funny. I used to watch a lot of UK comedy once. Billy Connolly is another funny guy. Sadly there’s not enough of that in the world these days.

    Legendary indeed.

Just went full circle and got myself a pair of gray 4343Bs. In the last 20 years or so, have owned the 4343B, 4350A, 4430, 4345, 4344, then a deuce with 4350A again. Was without 43xx series for a while, but always felt something was missing in my lifeÂ…

it doesn’t have the scale of the 4350, but it’s friendlier, easier to get right in smaller places. It does not go as low as the 4345, but the ‘kick’ in the bass is more pronounced, faster.
