    Gentle Giant

Well, surely GG were one of my favourite bands of the 1970ies. Due to their challeging first albums their following remained modest. Despite their efforts to »americanize«, i.e. simplify, their music, the Interview album was the first step in this direction, they remained an affair for hard core fanatics.

    Best regards!

BIM (aka R. Forbes), Thistles, 1978, Elektra Germany, ELK 52099

This is the worst of vocals. Should be recorded by a competent singer once again...

Animals, Greatest Hits Live!, 1984, IRS Holland, ILP 25937

Lousy sound. Nearly inexistent drums! It's a pity because it was a zealous live performance by great musicians and an awesome celebration that December 31 1983 at Wembley Arena London.
What music history: Eric Burdon, Chas Chandler, Alan Price, John Steel, Hilton Valentine, Steve Grant guitars, Zoot Money kb
No information about the sax player. Anybody knows?

The spine of the US issue of this album says "Rip It To Shreds The Animals Greatest Hits Live!" How true...

Dave Greenslade/Patrick Woodroffe, Pentateuch, 1979, EMI GB, 2LP, Book, EMSP 332

This is the worst of Dave Greenslade: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNhtAh3U_sc This is the very very very best of Patrick Woodroffe. http://www.patrickwoodroffe-world.com/ The book inside of this album is still wonderful and fascinating. The music on these 2 Lps didn't withstand the test of time.

Admittedly I don't know any of Dave Greenslade's solo works. But If this one should be his worst, how good must have been all his other efforts?

    Best regards!

It's a huge difference between the opulent artwork and the minimalist musical ambition (an overdose of Synthies...)

I made an additional note in the Image Uploads discussion.

How large is the file you are trying to upload?
There seems to be a failure when files over 1 Megs are attempted to be uploaded.

Yesss, this was my fault. I have to minimize the fotos (from I-Phone). Now it works as usual. Thank you. Best wishes from Switzerland to USA!

Now there is a new problem: i cannot "Edit Post", because there is a pop up window: "You do not have permission to perform this action. Please refresh the page and login before trying again."
What does "refresh the page" mean? I never had this problem...

Roy Wood, The Wizzard, 1975, Jet England, UAS 30095

The worst of Jet Records. It's a pity: this is a waste vinyl pressing concerning dynamic sound quality (muffled!) and pressing quality (wavy uneven surface). This is not the only one of sad English Jet Records pressings i have noticed ...
P.S. The work of Roy Wood is still formidable.

Jethro Tull, Under Wraps, 1984, Chrysalis Germany, 206 518

One fairly acceptable track: B3 "Under Wraps #2". The rest should have been kept under wraps.
Where is Martin Barres guitar? Where are the drums? No real drums, only poor synthesizing in excess...

Well, popular music in general became worse in the 1980ies with the advent of affordable polyphonic synthesizers .

    Best regards!
