Dead Brand?

Anyone ever heard of a speaker company called H&H Electronics? A buddy of mine bought a pair of them in the late 70s and told me they were fantastic. Apparently they were the speaker of choice by Prince in the 80s and can be seen in the film, "Purple Rain."

Yea, I think they are dead...they were big time British manufacturers in the late seventies,early eighties..they really looked like a British Carvin. They made everything from amps to enclosures,mixers..etc,etc..some old Pink Floyd pictures show H+H gear...Tim

Most of the stuff was as good as best Peavey stuff. Well made and proven. Give the MX and VX amps a go as they sound good and are tough. Watch out for the classic S500D very nice looking and build but quite prone to going bang and uses potted sealed modules.

They kind of gradualy slipped away not aware of them going bust or being absorbed. Also did drivers for guitar and PA, cast baskets, solid build efficient.

(And as i remember they are making classic HH speaker chassis and bullit tweeters again to HH specs)

Yes H&H was located in England. Most of the stuff they produced was PA stuff. Loudspeakers poweramps and so on.

Their bass drivers had all white painted frames I remember. I was a representatives repair/service guy in Sweden at that time. But it was not for any longer period of my life.

Had a pair of H+H Hf 200 radiators. Sold. Not so loud as 2402 and cheap.

Are they worth the effort to repair?

Not worth repairing if paying modern labour rates maybe. Wouldn't use them in the house unless nothing else available.

OK for music work but limited power by todays standards of medium efficency drivers.
