    2235 or 2123 for custom 2245/2441 setup?

Hi, just wondering if I could get some advise please on a setup I'm putting together.

I am looking at a 3 way system using an Ashley 2001 electronic crossover.

    I have a pair of 2245's, 2235's, 2123's and 2441's.

I will use the 2245's and 2441's with either the 2235's or 2123's in the middle.

Any advise which would be better and what crossover frequencies I should set these to?

    Thank you kindly.

2123's and not the 2235's for mids, they are LF speakers

    Cool 4344 mkii

Look for the 4344MKII crossover. Use that, either as a starting point for further tweaks, or as is.

I built the 2123H BPF as it is shown (Something like 300-1.2KHz, IIRC) and it works great in between a 2235H and a 2344/2446H. The 4430 HPF only needed a small tweak to blend with the 2123H, and now the HF is a little less strained at high output levels, not to mention the MF being much better than the 2235H was...

    what he said

The 2123 in a sealed mid box goes down to about 300 Hz. Choice seems to be in low frequency transducers 2235 and 2245, each the best, but the 18 needs almost twice the vol.(140l vs. 240l) so your room and application become important. The 2235 in the 4430 system (2 way crossed at 1000 to a 1"horn) is a model. Your 2441 could cross a bit lower depending on the horn, so a three way 2245,2235,2441 crossed at 70 and 800 might be an option, but more likely is the 2235, 2123, 2441 crossed at 400 and 1600. A consideration for the high frequency extension would include a uhf driver above 8 or 10 kHz, so 2235, 2441, 2405 crossed at 800 and 9000 if three way...(though you didn't ask about uhf the 2"compression drivers fall off up there.)

    hmmm..

Thank you all for that. I was hoping to keep the 2245's in the system as I already have them in some nice cabinets, although they are only about 190 litres so that might be a tad small. I thought the 2235's might be ok from 300 to about 1200, however the 2123's would be a better choice for this would you think? I do have a very large Yamaha tweeter (JA-4281b) which may be ok instead of 2405 which I don't have. Due to having the Ashleigh crossover (which allows 2 x 3 way setup) I was hoping just to have the 2441 for the highs. I currently have the 2245/2235/2441 setup and does sound quite good (I did have the tweeter included in a 4 way setup just recently however I think I prefer how the 3 way performs; the 2441 going (hopefully) to 18k seems to suffice).

If the 18" cab is large enough at 190l, would the best setup for this purpose be 2245/2123/2441 crossed at 300 and 1200 perhaps?

    Thanks again.

any attempts to use the 2235 instead of the 2123's as your mid's is going to end in dissatisfaction!! You need about 9.5CUF for the 2245's. Your box is way too small for the 2245's so the 2235's are your option.
