Hello all,
Can anyone shed some light as to what these are.
Hello all,
Can anyone shed some light as to what these are.
Haha nope.
Barry.
If we knew what the hell we were doing, we wouldn't call it research would we.
Yep, it seems that back in the day Sansui had a deal with JBL. There were also Sansui branded speakers that had great JBL transducers inside = SP-707J (same as C40 Harkness?) and SP-LE8 with, obviously the JB LE-8 driver.
Sansui also made their own JBL Studio Monitor lineup but there is no info on crossovers used. I guess that the EC's were only sold as empty cabinets. You can also clearly see that their blue paint tone is a bit off.
Still, it makes me wonder if they are made with all US parts and only assembled in Japan.
Especially the EC146 is an interesting one, much like a 4343/4345 hybrid - you could either fit a 2235H or a 2245H in it and you could even replace the bass reflex pipes!
Shame, shame, shame that they never made their way into Europe and seem to be purely JDM stuff.
Grooming the economy, for brand application maybe, has kenrick ever worked on one.
Brian
Interesting that all the Sansui "C" box interpretations used a D130 as the foundation building block versus the 130A
Beautiful stuff
The one that I like the most is the EC246: put an Arai A290 horn on top and you are set!
