that's good enuff for me. Wonder if they are patented or I can knock some out with my
lathe ? James B. would have prolly used 'em if he'd only known ....

"Each array is engineered with proprietary technology (patent pending) and made with exotic hardwoods, consisting of staggered activated panels that are mounted on an elegant base that beautifully blends into any style room environment"

    "PENDING"

Be VERY careful if you do....................I won't tell

Might have some problems with getting the "exotic" and "activated" parts going there though

Alrighty , going to email you a "non-disclosure" agreement.

Gots lots of Doug Fir 2x4's that I can whittle down & stain, exotic enuff ? Could get them blessed by some pseudo official to activate ?

(that's the purpose of the kitsch on the 250Ti's ... to improve sound, reduce EMI/RFI )

It must be the black paint. I have a couple of extra menorah's, I'll paint them and see what happens.

Yeah im just guessing. If they are magnets they don't appear to be ferrite and look more like alnico magnets. If they aren't permanent magnets then perhaps they are just rods of non magnetized ferrous material.

Is it magnetic or not? (or do you know yet/for certain?)

You can guess which one..........as for "interesting"? I would think that would depend on who you asked

JBL 4312a harsh frequency coming off the woofers?

    Hi All,

I am a proud owner of a nice pair of JBL 4312a control monitors....and a proud owner of 4408's and 4406's as well. I love all of them but really dig the 4312a's. However I have to say they are harsh and unforgiving. There is an upper-mid or low-high frequency that comes off the woofers that drives me up a wall. I can dial down the midrange and the tweeter and the frequency that bigs me is definitely coming off the large cones. Can anyone tell me why or what I can do about it? One of them was professionally roconed all JBL parts. Everything seems to be in working order. Do I maybe need to replace the capacitors? Is there a known 'diffraction' that comes of them big ridged paper cones? I've had to resort to draping some fabric over the cones to reduce this frequency.

Perhaps someone could suggest a nice tube amp that would play well with these?

I am using a tube-based modwright Oppo as my digital playback source. Emotiva amp.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brett

Brett, you need to repost your question as a new topic. It's getting lost in this thread.

Welcome to LH, by the way.

Yes and hopefully, Bo will chime in. We all know how much he loves the L100 and 4312's!

    It's The WeedBuzz. Or Not?

My guess is they are there to linearize the incoherent negative group delay of their Sneik Oyl impregnated speaker cables?
