JBL 5235 Crossover Boards: Unobtainium Obtained

    Hi,
For those interested in adapting JBL 5235 active crossovers for use with their JBL systems, a major blocking point has been the difficulty of getting suitable crossover boards.
I would like to recommend Evan Bunner of Bunner Audio ( www.bunneraudio.com , [email protected] ). He has produced a set of 5235 boards for my 4343 speakers , together with the L-shaped mounting plates, with component holes drilled precisely for the sizes of the components that I planned to use. Evan can produce these boards at a reasonable cost for any of the JBL speakers, with tweaks as needed. They arrived here today from the US... a late Christmas present, so now on to the next stage of bi-amping these excellent speakers.

    My unobtainium

Right now I am checking my components and the other upgrades that I need to make to my 5235 (PS upgrade, IC replacements with OPA627, various other changes gleaned from these forums) before mounting the new boards. The photos above are pretty well identical to the boards that I received. The only changes that I have needed to make are to drill out the holes on the L-brackets and the corresponding holes in the boards to take the bolts that I am using.
There is not really much more to say... I shall probably use some computer-printed labelling or transfers for the board identification(viewable through the slot on the front panel of the crossover). Other than that, my thanks to Evan Bunner of Bunneraudio for helping me get my 4343s working with the original (with some mods) JBL crossover.

    George Brooke
