    L100 Raffle

I know that many have been wondering what happened to this raffle. The good news is that it is about to start and should begin within a week. Dennis Leisz has generously offered to act as treasurer for Project May and one of his first duties is to coordinate the raffle.

I am posting this in the public forum to gain input on conducting the raffle before finalizing a set of rules. The input I am looking for is:

    1) What fundraising target do we think is realistic?
    2) Price per ticket ($5 has been suggested)?
    3) Timeframe (fixed or open ended until we reach the target)?
    4) Who do we invite (Lansing Heritage only or other forums and websites)?
    5) Any other issues?

I only plan to keep this thread open for a few days until such time as we gain sufficient input to define the raffle format.
    Regards

    Don McRitchie

I would definitely post information on the raffle at several forums at Audio Asylum, Parts Express and Madisound.

I don't know we are short on our projected budget think we could sell 250 tickets?? I would do a definite number of tickets with first come first served. When we run out that's it. You could also have a drawing date but that could be risky if you don't sell enough. That would raise a bit more than what we thought but looking at shipping for Widget to Tim to????? We are going to start eating those funds fast without any of it actually going to the "wood"!!! We know what the percentage of funds have gone to shipping so far??

Two worthless posts from Giskard so far! Going for a third!

"Ship it! Ship it good!" - UPS guy listening to a Talking Heads Greatest Hits CD while kicking a box down the hall after watching Ace Ventura the night before.

    Ok, I'm outta here

And slink you should. That's Devo - not Talking Heads. Geeze, what's the world coming to when you can't distinguish one pompous, post punk, geek-wave band from another.

I think that we should just set a start time and a stop time, (before Christmas please) and hope for the best. Promote the hell out of the raffle everywhere we can think of, no membership requirements, easy paypal link, so on.

I would say keep it within the forum with a minimum donation of $5, or even $10.

I guess that there is going to be a slight division in opinions here. Some people will want to maximise their chances of winning, (limit who can enter) others will want to raise the most money possible, (hold the raffle open for a long time) and then there is the smallest group, the ones who just want to get the boxes out of their living room.
