...was
ESTONIA EP 010 TURNTABLE
The cover glass was staight, it was cool.
(well, looking today that youtube, it probably didnt treat LP-s enough gently )

There was some factories across Soviet Union for radio-electronics.
Here in Estonia was a factory - made lot of stuff for military porpose like I heard ...and some stuff also Hi-Fi of 'highest class'.
There was all systematic in SU (thank God people had Names not Numbers)
Audiostuff had three numbers. If first was zero - it was best, the highest.
Next two numbers was model Nr.
(Bosses of Communist Party like knew already they do not produce endlessly, more than 99 versions wasn't possible...!?)
I had amps of Estonia 010
This was the last model, then SU collapsed.
Things merged like 310 barely mumble...
BUT; had a 'normal' turntable, first class (not the highest)
I wanted one certain model SOOO BAAADLY.
But it was SOOO rare, launched at 1984/85 , and if one came to shop, it was broken already before box opened.
Turntable model was ESTONIA-EP-010 and it was Galaxy. No, the Universe for me!
Reason was quite prosaic : it was only one to dream of...
Years later got knowledge, it was copy of Sharp-Optonica-RP-7100.
And all the last series, THE HIGHEST MODELS 010 (I had amps) , where basically entirely Sharp Optonica...
They f*** copied every single knob!
My Childhood Dream collapsed!

One delicious detail:
There was 'World Exhibition' in 1958 in Brussels (Belgium, Europe). Honest quetion here has to be, what world!?
...And then Estonias' model Nr2 , a Mono radio with two satellites earned a Gold Medal as best sounding gear!
...And on the other side of planet launched same time PARAGON (sic!) at 1958 in US !!!
Sooo separated were two continents these times....
_______________
With these RARE-topics I'm certainly biased. Fortunately by funny way.
One more delicious detail:
Like, today exists s.c. Darwin's Prize, right.
Imagine: basically everything incl. toilet paper, is RARE!
That's why existed a Dummiest Product Prize. Once was winner a hand-tool to put toothpaste back into the tube!
Because then we can all together go to the better future, to Communism - no more toothpaste-factories ...aww.
Think Green, Yo, anno 1970.

Though most of tech was S*** Cubed here (except the zero-merged-things... when they jused to work) , but to listen Vinyl , or direct recordings from Vinyl , with headphones was Full Pleasure.
things are getting better now, BUT in my day ...
we used to have to brew up a head of steam to spin records.

Vinyl remains the best..... this is my prime VPI equipped with Lyra Clavis DC. The components of my plant are all shelf mounted on marble slabs anchored to the master wall of the house.
Information is not Knowledge; Knowledge is not Wisdom
Too many audiophiles listen with their eyes instead of their ears
Where’s the Technics Direct Direct TT.
Wrong Century?
That is so beautiful!
