Does anyone have any experience with both the 4301s and the L40s. I own the 4301s and am looking at a pair of the L40s. For sure, the surrounds are gone on one speaker and no mention on the other speaker. At this rate, I don't think I will be able to audition them. I can look at them to see the general overall cosmetic condition and that is about all. The asking price is $100. Thanks Al

L40's are fine speakers on their own and offer a similar sound to the 4301's but with a bit more bass extension. Some would say the L40 tweeter is a bit better than the 4301's cone tweeter.

At $100, that's a very nice price for a pair of L40's even needing refoaming. I'd be all over that in a second. The L40 cabinets, like most JBL cabinets, are easy to refurbish if in decent condition. Good luck!
