This comes completely out of my head but I dont think whey will sound better than the 2245 in the 4345 by just swapping the drivers, possibly with a few moderations. Without Eq I believe the 2245 will have lower extension. If your goal is to blow out the windows in your home I bet 2269 would work wonders though.

I don't think at there will be any difference in the lower frequency range between 2269G/H and 2245H
2269G have fs around 26Hz and cone weight is 340 gr. and X-max is 19 mm

It appears the 2269 has a little more to give in the lower parts if I have done the calculations right which isnt certain by far. Im not sure about the tuning of the 4345 but Ive read 9cuft which is about 10cuft with damping material effect. I think it is tuned to around 28hz.

Could it be that the 2269 will sound a bit boomy in this application considering that the average room adds a bit of energy in 40Hz-20Hz region?

There was a short earlier thread about the 2269 that has a technical comparison (2242, 2258 and 2269) from a bulletin not published on JBL's site.

This monster driver, does it need a monster amplifier to "release the f-ing fury" you think?
Or are the dual voicecoil thingys with nd magnets giving extra control so to speak, so an "normal" amplifier will do to control it?
I am not talking about sound amplitude/volume, I am talking about cone control and distorsion.
Very vague and open question I know, but cut me the slack!

Is there anyone here at all who have tried 2269H? Either in DIY or maybe Sub18?

like you know I have pair of Revel Rhythm 2 woofers, I have not try them yet, but hopefully I will have time soon to do it
I have bin thinking about to make similar enclosure like Vt-4881 (2256g) maybe a little bit bigger than the original 4881

If I were you, just buy them, I am sure they will work well in your 4645B enclosures

I did in fact order a pair of 2269H yesterday. I had hard time to choose wheter to order Aurasound NS18, JBL 2269H or Revel but decided to try 2269h since it in fact was the cheapest solution. I've had Aurasound and they are excellent and cheaper but I would have needed more of them and therefore decided for 2269H. I've orderd two and will probably order another pair afterwards. Revel looks great, are a litle bit more expensive but since there are no specs for it I had no idea how too use it. My Guess it's similar to Aurasound and preferred used in a Sealed Box.
