Quantum Bass denotes K-140's. Quantum X had the K-130's in an otherwise identical rig. $925 vs. $895. For $30 I don't think any bass player would have chosen K-130's to play through...

K140 is certainly an upgrade regarding LF expansion but according to other page and probably depending on time, there are also on board 2x 15" D130F JBL

As a related aside, our band opened for Blood, Sweat, and Tears, up in Rock Springs, Wyoming, back in 1986!! We were playing locally and an agent came in a caught a set one night, then asked if we would replace the scheduled opening act, which he thought was horrible!! Of course, we very happily accepted the job, and it turned out to be an outstanding night for us. I was all "a-flutter" to look out and see David Clayton-Thomas, the BS&T lead vocalist, sitting at the back bar, enjoying a beverage, as I was singing one of our most demanding songs!!! Made my night, that's for sure, and quite a bit easier to hit those screaming high notes!! Later, whilst listening to BS&T doing their show (and they told us they HATED the crummy PA system that had been setup for them!), we were really in heaven, seeing some of our musical idols playing right where we'd just been earlier that night!! Magical, it was, and magical it remains in my memories of that great night!! Sorry for the short side trip, but I couldn't help myself! Wish I had a photo to share, but alas, don't have a single one. For the that time period in audio production seeing what looks like a true stage monitor in front of Billy Cox was a cutting edge concept. I going to to guess it was a McCune Audio system at that show.
Back then if there was any at all in the way of a stage monitor it was either something stacked up for a side fill or any speaker that was handy tilted back with shim under the front to point it sorta up at an angle towards the musician.

I wonder what they have keeping the stack of Fender amps from falling over!! It looks like four bassman heads, one dual showman head all stacked on top of a twin reverb!

Probably scrapped I heard horror stories of scrapping big 43's in the 90's when they got replaced by modern stuff like Adam, Genelec or ATC/PMC.

Sorry for the so so picture but no one around here had a scanner big enough to put it in so I took a picture of it. I got this some years ago and finally got around to getting it framed. Looking close at the picture it appears to be Ted Nugent on stage.

Ha Nice! Are those Tie dyed grills?

According to Blair Jackson's excellent book "Grateful Dead Gear" all of the tie-dyed grille cabinets were supposed to be set up in a way so they made a single image. I think he said that lasted one gig then their crew gave up on doing that.
