We have elsewhere here discussed using LE10A's to make a center channel MTM, and also using the 4612 format.

A single L77 would be a start, replacing the PR with a second LE10A.

A pair of 4612OK cabinets with crossovers just sold on eBay for $51.01. Another worthy pursuit, apparently....

Alex, it could be an old picture...

I know the S1S used to be tuned to 30 Hz for the 2245H (along with early production runs using the 2242H's) but now it's tuned to 25 Hz for the 2242H just like the 4645C is.

Alrighty then, what are those parts ? Is that a 90(s) generation motor structure (ie 2242 ) with the newer/wider .06" gap, cut by a deep voice coil?

A reconer would know this . But I'm under the impression that it's .06" .

For the sake of clarity ;

The 2242h "top-plate" is @ 1/2" thick - giving a gap (depth) of 1/2" .

"Gap Width" is the measurement across the circular cut in the top-plate ( measured across the opening ) . These "widths" have been opening up as the top-plates (gap-depth) have been getting deeper. This helps power handling as well as giving more clearance for long stroking-coils to avoid hitting the top-plates sidewalls . The economic downside is that to maintain similar gauss levels within the gap - magnets have had to add mass .

The 1500AL series is now up to a .1" opening in the gap width. It's Depth - I forget ( is maybe 1.6" ) . It's gauss level has dropped but that hasn't hindered it's reported ability for higher "resolution" .

The 1500AL has maintained the same basic motor strength as the 2231/2234/2235.

The 1500FE is the one with the higher motor strength with a Bl around 25 T*m

Yes, it's very important to point out that gauss level is only one factor of a few in the determination of "motor-strength" .
