What can you tell me about these JBL 130B 32 ohm 15"ers?

    Hello -

Recent find two JBL 130B signature Speakers 32 Ohms Serial numbers 10907 and 10908.
I tested both voice coils and they are reading 14.1 ish - seems good to me. One needs reconing for sure - the other may pass. What is the vintage of these units and are they desirable? Ant information would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks - DAName: DSC_0008.jpg

130 B woofers are usualy sold in pairs,,Mine came out of a JBL C-55 scoop horn cabinet,, Your tests are correct for the readings,,, Cone replacement are rare to find,,If the cracks are minor, you might use a brown groasery bag patch glued to the surround,, A rubbery glue may Keep it supple and compliant,,That would be a last resort,,I,m looking for a second pair,,If your think of getting rid of them let me know..

C55 dual 15" woofer "scoop" horn speaker system.

Does it make sense that these might have come out of a C55 or were 130b's used in a variety of applications?

    Hmmmmmmm!!!

Well - I am still wondering about these speakers - what were they used in - I am guessing they date from the 1960's but - not sure. Are they d130b's or just 130b's - I have read that they probably have different voice coil structure - how does that relate to there sound etc. Any info would be appreciated.

    Have a great day -

There's a little in the Library?

    130B

You'll just have to plow through the various catalogs in there to see all the different speakers they were used in.

    Ploughing............

    Thanks Jeff -

I will plough - So far it seems 1964ish and the catalog mentions the 130b was used in larger enclosures with N1200 and 175DLH for reflex or horn loaded enclosures. Any idea what these might be - did JBL make these "large enclosures" - more ploughing - it is a very large field!
