I think it's safe to say these are not something you would want in your living room.

They look like PA - sound reinforcement speakers for concert and night clubs -
I'm guessing they'd probably a bit harsh for living room use.

No worries - your questions aren't stupid at all. To answer them:

Are they ugly? Well, I think you could do better in terms of aesthetics is the nicest way I can put it.

Bad sound? They're pro gear, which means they're probably voiced very forward (i.e., they're likely designed to push mid-range & highs through a crowd and over ambient noise.) In other words, they're probably not designed to be relatively flat, which is something you would typically hope for in a home loudspeaker.

Bear in mind, I've never seen a pair much less heard them, so this is speculation based on general experience. Also keep in mind that I have a pair of Control 10's (somewhat similar in intended application) in my basement. They're great .............. for a basement.

Short answer to your question is these are not Hi-Fi speakers designed for in home use, and therefore are more than likely not going to provide you with the look or sound you would want in your living room.

    Hope that helps.

A much more succinct way to say what I was going for. I tend to be a bit verbose at times....

You're more than welcome. I look forward to hearing how they work out for you.

I do not, and they're not listed on JBL's Pro website, so unfortunately, I can't even refer you to a tech sheet. You might try to contact JBL Pro and request a tech sheet, though they refer all questions outside of the US to local distributors so I'm not sure how far you'll get.

Just tried to connect a Labgruppen FP2600 amplifier ( Lab2600) to this JBL PS15 and....... You wont believe me, I know , BUT it sounds really really nice Nice smooth and with dynamic power. I listen to some smooth jazz right now and my old ML would have to have a good day to follow. More later. hitachi
