    If you go to Kendrick sound and use google's chrome translator you will find under repair this information about using a chamois edge instead of urethane. Anyone have any thoughts?:

    from japan website:

    Edge exchange carefully check the status of the unit while an experienced staff, make silicone or assembly, including the cone. You can choose from the edge of chamois leather rubber edge urethane edge. Please note that only sell kits, so we do not.
    ※ Do you have a unit receive directly, send me a box using a special courier service.

    DESCRIPTION chamois material edge;

    Edge features durable chamois is first. There is no fear of aging such as polyurethane. If the urethane replacement cycle takes 5 to 10 years. (If you have severe changes in temperature and humidity gets too short a two-year cycle.)

    Sound quality is hard urethane exchange initially, gradually softening compared to knock down each edge has the property so soft chamois always stable and has a habit of keeping the tone quality urethane edge of advanced age . Therefore, the cost is very dominant.

    The use of various kinds of soft leather as an outer cone surround dates back to the earliest days of moving coil cone loudspeakers. It provides a nice combination of flexibility, damping and durability.

    Just dunk it in water and wring it out occasionally!
