I picked this speaker up at a junk shop . when i got it home on the frame is a k140 one the cone its a e140 but as you can see in pic . it has no silver dust cap on it .its a mystery to me .

The C8RE140 is the correct recone kit for the E140-8 and the K140, however the dust cap should be aluminium.Originally Posted by dj jason

thank you Eaulive for the info. so could this still be a jbl recone kit or is it after market ???
As far as I know, the JBL original kits have some markings on the back of the cone, hand writing and stamped.
Sometimes there's also a sticker if it haven't fall with time.
