    NEED better LE5-5s

I would like to know if there are noticeabley better bolt in replacements for LE5-5s' in L65 Jubals? Have no preference for either vintage or contemporary...... All comments welcomed JBL Consumer Service tells me LE5-11s should be used, are there better direct replacement options?

I don't think so. I tried Alnico LE5's, because my L65's were close to the CRT TV, but they were not as good in that system, I thought. They sounded better with the LE5-5's.

That speaker is for parties--e.g., a room filled with doughy academic types wearing tweed--not critical listening. My solution for the L65 was to toe them in so the axes crossed in front of the listening position. That way the rising, piercing midrange wasn't so bad, and there was still some sound stage.
