Try a search for the 2235, 121A, 2203 and 2231. They all have mass rings somewhere in the posts the weights are there. That is of course unless the JBL Elves happen to read this and just drop it into the thread.

I posted this back in 2003.
If anyone knows the unknowns we can update it.
The 2245 didn't use a mass ring. The cone was aquaplased instead.
Ole Wise And Learned One - your chart shows a 35 gram mass ring for the 135A. It didn't use a mass ring to my knowledge but instead used x grams of white aquaplas coating. Wasn't the 136A and the 2231A the first foam edge woofers to use the mass ring?
I don't know which driver first used a mass ring. JBL played around with it on several models. Some of the twelves either had mass rings or were aquaplased too. It's possible that the mass ring for the 135A was a JBL misprint. It happens.
I think there's a lot of misinformation and confusion on the 122A-1 as well. It's been said they either had a mass ring, or Aquaplas, but I had one that, unless improperly reconed at some time in its life, had both the mass ring and what seemed to be a lighter Aquaplas coating on the back. If I can find that mass ring (still on the old cone w/burned VC i think) I'll pull it off and weigh it if anyone's interested. Unfortunately, I can't get an accurate weight on the complete cone assembly as the VC was seriously toasted and got removed and trashed.
The NOS C8R2129H recone kit I picked up had no mass ring and heavier Aquaplas on the back. AFAIK, it was a complete kit.
