I picked up a few 044 tweeters for spares. There's no orientation on them or any markings for +/- on the connects. There's a male and a female lug on them. Does anyone know which lug is + and which is -?

There's a "+" mark on the front housing/casting under and a bit to the side
of the male terminal, if that means anything. If hooking up to stock wiring
(e.g., L96/112/150A) I'd be hooking up the mating connections...
I see that now, thanks. I was just assuming that when the day comes I need one, I might not have the original M/F wires.
Then you might want to bookmark this link or download the tech sheet. Believe it or not, the wiring schematic for the crossover shows the "gender" of the connectors:
http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/HOM/Te...L150a%20ts.pdf
... which is interesting, in that I would interpret the schematic connector
symbol to be a male connector on the wiring harness (yellow/no-stripe
wire) going to the "+" terminal on the HF driver.
The other interesting point (to me), and part of why I tried to keep it brief
in my earlier post, is that when disassembling a dead 044, I seem to recall
the "+" marking on the dome kit/board being the female terminal. Maybe
Gordon can verify this when he get's the one I sent. The board the dome
is attached to is keyed, so you can't reverse it (without putting the dome
down on its face )... this would contradict the mark on the casting, but
agree with the schematic.
Reader's Digest version? Replacing a unit and using the stock wiring,
you're probably fine. Using an 044 in different or DIY system? You better
be prepared to figure out driver phasing yourself.
