    m9500 -special surface?

hey you know this, please help me out:
is this a special material on the surface here?

to me it looks like a kinda very solid and hard foam, but why does it?
    wishful thinking maybe...?

    cheers,
    and thanks a lot-

The M9500 has a matte paint finish that has a pretty smooth texture.
