I use my 'puter for a big jukebox since the main system is at the other end of the house .
So I picked up a good sound card, run it out to a class H+ (eeeww) Technics receiver under the monitor. There are two desks (a huge custom oak and a huge homemade oak roll top) that are butted together in an "L" shape. Each desk has an L-26 in the foot well. Up until now I've had a/d/s/ 300's hanging from ceiling mounts. Last year I picked up some Sonance MB-30's and always wondered how they wud sound in place of the 300's.
Today one of the foams on an a/d/s finally let go ( 30 years old ??), so when I had it down for refoaming, figured it was perfect time to give the Sonances an audition. They are a 2 way with dome HF and 6.5 in LF - as opposed to the a/d/s 3 incher. dont know much about Sonance, they are SoCal also, but based on these, I sure wud pickup more if a good deal presented itself. They SEEM to make the L-26's sound better too.
WOW !! everything came alive !!! although there are some clearance problems with the much bigger MB-30's, man they are not going back to storage. Wish them puppies said JBL on them, but they are outfugginstanding anyway. Happy Camper here...
