That would seem to be a fair price in Denmark.

    Hi Jan
I think also the price is fair (have been looking to buy them myself), but since the bass drivers are not the original S8 (should have been LE15a), and as the sellers pictures show, the x-overs (delefiltre) are not the original S8 either. For the 2405 tweeters the x-overs should have been N8000, but he is using N7000 for the 2402 instead. Cabinets should have been C50/C51 but are instead 4320, which doesn't really make a difference.
Many threads in here suggest that the 375 driver is worth a lot, but the equal pro driver 2440 is only worth half the price. Why????

They probably are good and sound awesome, but his father who build them, has been using them for a nightclub for many years. I don't know if this means anything.

To keep the price is fair, but for resale probably too high.

    I bought them

Well. I ended up buying them anyway. When I arrived to pick them up I found the cabinets in real bad shape. Banged up.....

But sound is fantastic. Better than my S2600, better than my 4430, and in my opinion even better than a friends 4343 I heard the other week.

That 2440/375 mid really kicks butt together with 2205B and 2405s The combinations of drivers and x-over are not right for standard S8, but soundwise they are the best JBLs I ever heard (together with S3100 perhaps). The kick and dynamics on these S8 are very similar to what I heard on the old Klipsch cornerhorns. Dramatic and never tiring.

I know many that think S2600 and S3100 should be similar, but I have owned both and the horndriver sounds congested and subtle in the S2600, as if damped to much to compensate for lower efficiency in the 12" bass compared to the 15" in the S3100. They do not sound alike at all. And S3100 is far better than S2600.

    S8 for sale again

It would appear that Verner just wanted a pair of 2405 -- they are now for sale with 2402 tweeters:

Nope, I just had to sell either my S2600 or the JBL S8, and I ended up selling the S2600. Still have the S8.

Thought that if I should sell them, it would be easier with the original 2402 tweeters they were made for.

Also note that I put them up for sale at the same price I bought them for.
