    2226H / 2226HPL ?

I finally found myself what I have been in search of for some time now. Actually one more than I need but what the heck, I couldn't pass them over.

3 - JBL 4647A cabs loaded with a 2226HPL each. I have been going over past threads and even searched the library to know avail. Can someone provide the differences between these two drivers?

I know what a 2226H is and have found reference to the 2226HPL but nothing that really defines the difference.

    Thanks Gentlemen

The 2226H has a red, silver, and black label, while the 2226HPL, (Private Label?), has a silver and black label, and is only used in JBL factory cabinets. As far as I know, that's the only difference.

Cool! If thats the case, I'm a happy guy. They were in a church and painted kind of a "tan" color. They should clean up nice for a paint finish or veneer.

Yep, also seems like they (...PL versions) often come without the
protective magnet bumpers ... similar to non-foilcal'd drivers
(stenciled/painted part numbers). More of a handling issue than a
    performance difference.

pl by means by no means...

The PL has also been referenced as "protector less" by some but I was told it does mean private label.

BTW - most of the PL cones have the WR ( weather resistant ) coating to seal the paper.

Which makes the correct part number 2226HPL-WR

JBL sold a LOT of them in the 1997 original warehouse sale for 99 bux each - I gambled on the unknown part number and bought 20 of them.

    good move..

I'm pretty jazzed about finding them.

You bought 20 at $99 ea. eh? That was a great move indeed!

There is virtually no difference between the 2226H and 2226HPL. Yes, PL stands for private label. One has more labeling than the other. One is for service center replacement and one is for retail sales. Same exact everything else.
Hope that helps to clear up the confusion.
