need help for L100 123A-3 connection

hi to all and happy new year

I just bough an L100A pair - the common version - not the late
(black foilcal with Century mentioned )

but there are 123A-3 in place of 123A-1...
    ( not a problem... and anyway, I have a 123A-1 pair)

    My problem :

I found the 123A-3 connected like this : the BLACK wire on the RED post
and the GREEN wire on the Black post...
    so I changed it...

    Am I right ?

I know the N100 x-over are the same on L100A and L100A late
    (thanks the forum)
and I also understood the 123A-1 is a positive transducer
and the 123A-3 is a negative... ( I've tested it with an 1,5V battery)

Thanks to confirm what I think and have done...

both 123A-1 and 123A-3 works and play fine...
I really don't say for now if the 123A-3 is the best...

I think I must let the 123A-1 - anyone has an opinion ?

    thanks

I 've already seen those posts... but reading it again and better,
    now I'm really confused...

Here's why I was hoping you could test that 123A-3 for us, and confirm it is NEGATIVE. The following excerpts from the technical sheets of the "L1" and the "L1A Late Model" suggest the -3 is NEGATIVE like the 2213H, since JBL do not advise the need to switch polarity when swapping-in the 2213H.

    Anyway, good luck... Attached Images

So i could be wrong ??? do I have to reverse the polarity when replacing a
    123A-1 by a 123A-3 ?
So, let the green wire on the black post and the black wire on the red post ???

    to answer to bo :

    the 123A-3 moves IN
    and the 123A-1 moves OUT

when doing the same test : + battery 1,5 v on RED post
    and - on BLACK post

    well ...

    anybody can help ???

    123A-3 is negative polarity.

If it's replacing 123 A-1, which is positive polarity, you reverse the leads:

Sounds like it was right when you got it.

You get a Gold Star - those answers are correct.

123A-3 is negative (JBL vintage convention)
123A-1 is positive (a strange variant of the period...)

If that is true, whomever replaced the woofers made the proper wiring connection.

Using the 123A-3 in the L100A should wire GRN to Black post, and BLK to Red post - this will honor the network design. Treat the 123A-3 as you would the 2213H...

Connect a 1.5 volt battery to each system and check the polarity to be sure. They both should move the same direction with red to +, whichever direction that is.
Why buy used when you can build your own?
