    T030's to replace 093Ti's

In the hunt for buying spare replacement drivers for my speakers, can I buy the T030's as a DIRECT replacement for the 093Ti's?

Are these exactly the same dimension and spec wise? I've looked around the threads on here and the T030 seems to be the automotive version of the 093Ti's? The T030's seem to have a built in cross overs @500hz circuit. Can this be bypassed/removed and does it serve as a protection circuit or can it be left as is and slotted straight in the XPL's?

There's also the divided issue around here as to whether or not the T030's use the D4R095TI diaphragm?

Just wanted to be absolutely sure if the T030's can be used as a direct replacement for the 093Ti's without modifying the NOS or anything else for that matter?

    Thanks and cheers
    Pasadena

Maybe around here there is but Harman doesn't have that problem - JBL D4R095TI DIAPHRAGM KIT T030 HI-MID

It's not a direct replacement as the 095 use other VC wire than the 093. I'm too lazy to search that thread.
I wouldn't worry too much about that. There is a schematic for the 093 network and a schematic for the 095 network. I went through all this and posted the infos. Just do a search.

His auction just came through my e-mail not long ago and prompted my question here as to whether or not these would be a good buy as replacements for the 093Ti's, in future, if and when the 093Ti's blow/break and need to be replaced.

He started off with a pair but I asked him if he had any more than that and he said he has 5 pairs to sell. I said to the guy that I'd be interested in buying 2 pairs but I wanted to first check if the T030's were indeed able to relpace the 093Ti's as a direct replacement. He said he'd change the auction to offer 2 pairs in case I came back and made the decision to go ahead with it, whihc was nice of him to do.

So, I'm in the process of finding this out now but my concern was is if the T030's sonic qualities matched those of the 093Ti's or if there are some actual differences, which I would notice and may put things out of kilter if used in my 200's.

    Cheers
    Pasadena.
