    Best for what?

A living room playing old Rock and Roll or a 1000 seat theater with a string quartet or ???

I agree with part of your premise... the Everest IIs cost around ten times the price for mint condition 4350s... and in my opinion they are at least ten times better.

Why, L200s, of course, the "Quintessential Boom Box."

Not to worry, puberty will pass.

    Eventually....

Forget the L200's unless they are the B's. A well set up pair of L100 can sound better than the original L200. If you want something that is from the same time that plays very well with them look for L26's. If you want newer look for 4412's.

the century gold is my favourite when it comes to "affordable" speakers on the second hand market.

but the 4350 & 4435 are the absolute best the company ever made. at least for me that is.

havent heard the everest yet, bet its great
finally i have a pair of 604 8g's....there not easy to find in the netherlands

    JBL 4350A

I have not listened to the EVEREST and even if they are fantastic as most everybody say, they are way off price.

I have one couple of 4350A
    one couple of 4350B 4355 4333

They are priced perfectly for their target audience. Same with the K2-S9800.

Thanks for the tip, search turned up another connection, in 1975 Harman-Kardon sued B&O AND High Fidelity House for patent infringement over linear tracking turntables, settled in 1976 when B&O bought the patents from H-K:
    http://info.usitc.gov/ouii/public/33...4?OpenDocument

Apparently in the mid to late 70's Harman Kardon was marketing linear-tracking turntables based on a Rabco (Jacob Rabinow) design.

    Capsule history here:

I see somebody mention 4350, what about 4345? How is that one compare to the 4350?

This whole topic is one of personal taste, expectations, and type of use... we don't all listen in the same manner nor do we all want exactly the same sort of sound.

That said, I feel the 4345 is a significant improvement over the 4350. Neither are perfect, but then again the Everest II isn't perfect either... it is simply the closest thing to perfect that JBL has ever created and if they get much closer to perfect that will be really scary.

Hey now, my L200s upgrados are quite nice! 2235s, 2420s, 2405 and the magic G-man 3133 Equiv networks!
and the big 4ways are soitenly plenty fun too! (even if they don't have 18s)

Did anybody except me noticed that AJMERNONE have not replied to this thread?

I guess he/she is not serious. Forget it is my recommendation.
