It is used up to 1.2khz in the 4425, and goes down to about 40hz -+3db in this 1.9 cu ft cabinet.
It can go lower in a bigger cab (L100T ?) but maybe not as high.

    2214H frequency response

Here is my raw frequency measurement of the 2214H in a prototype 4425-style box.

Measurement distance 1 m, microphone the Behringer ECM8000.

    Hope this helps.

To the best of my knowledge, box volume itself will not significantly alter the high end of the driver frequency response....

Thank you. I own a pair of JBL XPL200's and one of the woofers is damaged.I haven't been able to locate any 2214 woofers so I am considering replacing them with JBL 2206 professional woofers. Would this be a good choice?

No - 'totally different! Your best bet is to have the 2214H repaired - the recone is listed at $142 from JBL.

I must admit I don't really understand all this.
I thought that by "forcing" a driver to go lower you lost its ability to go higher?
Don't you lose some transicient capabilities by enlarging the cabinet?
A larger cabinet could increase the excusion of the dircers in the LF, thus increase intermodulation distortions in the mids? Does it make sens?

Will the tuning frequency have more impact?
Normally if you enlarge the cabinet you will also lower the tuning frequency accordingly. So if the tuning has an impact, the cabinet size will also have an indirect impact anyway

There are things that I don't get in there, but I want to learn! Could you please recommand some readings on the subject?

THe Loudspeaker Design Cookbook by Vance Dickerson. Currently in it's 7th version. Probably the single most complete reference on speakerbuilding available.
Why buy used when you can build your own?
