LE15H´s are they worth reconing ?

    Hi.

I have a pair of JBL LE15H drivers with rotten surounds, and the spiders have fallen down due to the diaphragm weight.

The cones are a bit wrinkled and I think it would be best to recone them.
But are these drivers worth it ? I can´t find that much info on the net.

How are they compared to 2225H drivers, and what cabinet should they be used in ?

http://www.simplyspeakers.com has recone kits for the LE15, but I´m not sure it´s for the LE15H, as I read somewhere it should have a half roll foam surround.

    Thx in advance.

If you feel around $400 US for JBl kits is worth it,Me good pair of door stops.

    Rather abbreviated, but true...

The LE15H is better for deep bass and is rather rare and more valuable than the 2225... the 2225 was generally used as a PA woofer, has a slightly greater sensitivity and rather limited deep bass capabilities.

You can compare JBL's recommended cabinet volumes and tunings here:

    http://www.jblpro.com/pub/manuals/enclgde.pdf

You should compare enclosure 6 and 8.
