    jbl l220

    I just bought a pair of l220's

are they supposed to have stands? They are basically perfect. THe only thing is that i cant drive them like the PO does. I wish i could afford the Mcintosh stuff the guy has for sale.

No stands or riser's. Just 4 Tan colored plastic bumpers that act as feet or glides on the bottom.

Based on the weight of my L222s, stands would have to be made of concrete.
    had L25,L36,L40,L120,L300,AquariusIV(2),S1,4408 have L65,L100,L222,DorianS12,B380

i just got them home and hooked them up.

    WOW

They are some awesom sounding speakers. The only compaint i have is that my ipod cable is beat and causing some static.

I just wish i had enough money to justify keeping them.

    Anyone?

you didnt say how much you have in them..........i have learned over the years that when you sell something you like to pay bills all you end up with is more bills and less to show for them.a second job, sell off stuff you dont use or want first and save the good stuff for the last resort sale.high shipping costs generally preclude a good price for the 220 and buying them back will probably cost you more in the end.try some squash balls halved to get them off the ground is a cheap or even free fix if you know someone who plays

Truthfully I bought them to resell. In my stage in life have no need for them. Im not forced to sell them, but really just need to for myself.

but from what i learned from my last speaker sale. im not even going to try to ship them.

while i was loading them i noticed that on one of them the PO added 2 strips of wood for feet. Do you all think that these would hurt the value at all?

wood is poor material for floor isolation as the aim is to cut down resonance

I think you missed the obvious. Bi-wire when driving with an i-pod.

    What does that mean?

I will be running an Ipod through my system with the 250TIs. Should I bi-wire?

If so, how the heck do I do it?

    Thanks.

    What is the difference?

I am running the Ipod through a monster wire directly into the back of a Nakamichi CA-5AII Pre-Amp.

    Geez, get a grip.

Wait, there is a difference -- I have more than 1700 songs in a much smaller space than I would have if I had all the CDs strewn about.

Also, I love the shuffle feature.
