They say that's when life begins (at 40) but for all of us who know will tell you that is when you start falling apart

Yeah - but the 50+ crowd is special ... those 40ish youngsters!
My "THEM featuring Van Morrison" record is older than that!

I’m embarrassed with all this attention, no just kidding its been a quite day my farther brought a few unusual presents round some chocolate a Jackpot watch and a Dearing Escape DVD collection that was shown on the discovery channel.

Other than that I brought a JBL gto6506ce for two replace the left and right front drivers in the JBL Control 5 due to my paranoia of foam rot LOL.

So far so good although a gasket for both drivers is going to be needed to place the drivers at the correct position due to the extra holes for fixing in cars etc. The drivers are rated at 4Ω with slightly lower frequency response they sound great in the JBL control 5 enclosures, the only downside is there not magnetically shielded so when it comes to replacing the centre channel, yeah exactly the CRT and those electro guns are going to have fun.

The voicing between left centre and centre right is ok, a few more tweaks wit the equalization.

The edge foam surround cowed last back in 2005 so with a bit brainstorming, I find a bass mid driver that wasn’t in workable conduction and cannibalised the edge rubber surround of the driver stripped the edge foam surround of the JBL control 5 driver and replaced it with edge rubber surround and its held in place without a single snag since I run the fronts fairly heavy with films and since foam has got some limitations, but some advancements have been made with new materials.

    Anyway enough, rambling from me.

Thank you one and all thank you.
