    opgrade af k2

    Hi.
    Does anybody know if it is possible to opgrade the high freq driver in the
    k2s9800 to the new driver from the Everest dd66000??

    no it's not.
    the K2 use 435Be 3inch.
    everest use 476Be 4inch.

    the ultra high freq driver is the same.
    not the high, (mid) driver.

    The high frequency is the same 045Be., the mid frequency is the 476Be,.

    look at the specs on both k2 and everest.
    they are basicly a 2way speaker with a ultra high preq driver.
    So there is not a direct mid driver.

    but my question is still the same,
    can the 476be work in K2s9800.?

    Once JBL fulfills their Everest II backorders there is probably a possibility you could buy a pair. Greg Timbers posted a few months back that they would be happy to sell you some for $3500 each. Also, the UHF driver is different on the DD66000 as well, it is the 045Be-1 and it has higher sensitivity than the original 045Be. Since the 476Be aslready has extension to 30kHz there is not need to upgrade the 045.

    Sounds good.
    and will it fit in the horn,?
    The 476Be is 1 inch bigger??
    what about the sensitivity is that the same on both 476 and 435?

    The 045Be-1 cross,s over at 20k and extends to 50k hz.
