    CES in Vegas

I am off to the CES in Vegas next week to see whats new and listen to some good and some bad audio. Is anyone else in the group going to attend. It might be fun to get together to put names with faces. I will sure pay a visit to the people at JBL.
    Regards, Dennis

Ill be there. Many of the manufatures will have booths at nearby hotlel and such. Alexis park hotel and the hilton are amoung the few. The hilton has a killer buffet. Going to make the weekend of it.. So anyone can attend at the remote sites. looking forward to meeting Albert VS There are some pretty cool casinos out here man.

You need to register with CES to get a pass. This pass is required to enter either the main venue at the Hilton/LV Convention Center or the off-site Alexis Park Hotel that is the venue for most high end audio companies.

To register, you are required to demonstrate that you are part of the consumer electronics industry. However, this is not very strictly pursued. For the past two CES shows, I registered as a web publisher for audio consumers - not too far from the truth. I was only asked to provide proof one time at the registration counter, in which case my homemade "Lansing Heritage" business card was considered acceptible. Registration in advance is free. However, doing so now carries a cost that I believe is $75.

Once you get a CES pass, this is all you need to be registerred for the competing T.H.E. Show that many high end manufacturers participate in as a lower cost alternative to CES.

Unfortunately, I am out of vacation time to attend this year's CES. I very much enjoyed my previous two visits and plan to do so again some time in the future,
    Regards

I'll be back again this year for a couple of days. I assume that Harmon will be there, but will JBL? I remember hearing that they attend CES every other year.

I should be at CES right now. Except that PDX (Portland) is iced-in right now. The whole area's been covered in inch thick ice for about three days.

Any news on what JBL has at the show?

I think he is at the MGM Grand during the CES. He puts on a fantastic show. Excellent sound in a small (700 seat) venue. Both me and my wife enjoyed ourselves.
