    Non JBL Gloat

OK, I just had to gloat a little. Just bought a pair of B&W P5 at a tag sale. Drivers look brand new but the cabinets are utterly destroyed, beyond even reveneering.

    $25 bucks

Looks like I have a new surround pair...

You asked for it... it ain't pretty. They were stored in a damp basement. I actually know the folks very well, and saw these less than a year ago and they were fine. I think they just got damp enough that the effloresence from the concrete and the moisture ruined the glue joints etc. The drivers, Xover, etc are immaculate (believe it or not)

Remember the scene in The Godfather where he shows up at the undertaker with Sonny and says "I want you to use all your powers..."? That's what I feel like... but I think solid oak is going to be the choice for these.
