    JBL C70 Alpha 1's

    hey guys,

i also posted this in the general forum...

i just bought a set of these Alpha 1's this past weekend.

going to pick them up on wednesday...

i'd appreciate some info if anyone has some.

i'd not even heard of these speakers before.

they look to be kind of "mini-olympus" speakers.

any info would be much appreciated.

    thanks always!

Mini Olympus? I'd say Maxi L-100...

    Are yours like these?

If GordonW doesn't pop in here you should shoot him a PM... I believe he was going to build a set.

Hell if I know... I snagged that image from eBay the last time we talked about them. I know virtually nada about them. Shoot GordonW a note.

I can't add much except thet there is a link to the technical manual for the S70 Alpha III in the links part of this forum http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/HOM/Te...20III%20ts.pdf. I am guessing they will have similar dimensions.

    got the speakers last night...

    they look and sound great.

need to polish them up a bit and then i think i'll really have something here...

still trying to dial them in correctly, wanna see if they sound better than the 4311's that i am presently using.

anyone know what the "prefered opinion" is on the alpha's?

(not that it totally matters, i mean if they sound good, they sound good. right?)

i think for the 400 bucks i paid, they were a great deal.

my jbl empire is slowly growing and growing.

    hahahaha! (which means "i'm addicted")

Just remember, That Paragon is yours. All you have to do is show at the film fest and do a little "director speak"

    hmmmm...

    seriously, i'll try.

but i'd have to be back by 8:00 pm on saturday night.

    C70 Alpha 1's

I've got a pair and I like them very much.
Very nice and very powerful, especially in the low end.

i had both the alphas and the 4311's on line at the same time and was really surprised at how much better the alphas sounded than the 4311's...

the alphas really have a wide range going on.

anf the sound really fills the room.

the 4311's tended to have a "sweet spot" and i'd have to stand there.

the alphas' sound seems to follow you around the room.

so now i am thinking about selling the 4311's.
