Anyone recognize these horns ?

Not sure, but the bass horns looks home made. The ones in the front looks like ... Capella? ... not sure if the spelling in right.

The speaker components are all either ALE or Goto Unit, both companies residing in Japan. These components are unspeakably expensive, reportedly the best in the world, and very few have folks have heard them and thus been in a position to comment one way or the other. The largest bass horns and drivers are definitely produced by ALE.

I have corresponded with the owner of this system in the past, but it was years ago and I no longer remember the details. He is certainly an example of money in the right hands.

Kevin Brooks of Provo Utah is the U.S. distributor for ALE (Audio Laboratory Endo). I heard his system using the ALE midbass horns and bass compression drivers ($65k) about three years ago, and it was a shattering experience. The sound was so live, so REAL that I was overwhelmed. It set me on a course of producing my own bass compression drivers that persists to this day.

In that photo above he is using a pair of ALE or GOTO tweeters... in this photo he seems to still be using them but with an additional stack of TAD ET-703s... I wonder what his fascination with multiple tweeters is? Typically it is best to use a single source, especially at high frequencies...

There's a paper on stacked tweeter arrays over in the JBL Pro tech library. Several, actually.

Can't say I much like the results, tho.

Maybe for big-venue SR, but not for home.

Those are actually Electro-Voice 30W's...of which I have one...with a slight VC rub.

The Hartley's I've seen, I believe had a white cone. Clarion made a 24" car subwoofer a few years ago too...and Audiobahn makes a titanium/aluminum cone 34" sub
