what do you mean by optimize?

are you using them for home 'hi-fi' playback? or live sound?

how do you like those 418-8H 2 woofers?

    418's are guitar speakers

Meaning they are producers of sound, not reproducers.

The Altec 515 would be a excellent choice to replace it with the 416 as second choice.

    Just my 2 cents worth!

my 816As are loaded with 515Bs, very nice combination....

the 816As are on top of a 825 cabinet (loaded with TAD 1601a -- make do with what I have) and under a 511B (802G loaded)

I am really liking my stacks now... need to find another pair of cheap 515Bs tho' -- I got the ones i have in trade for a single 2225

I think the upper midrange is better now that I am not attenuating at the xover....

and it is also nice to have the double 15's on each side

and the wife isn't freaking out too much!
