A friend of mine came up with the deal of the weekend. While out garage sale'ing, he stubbled across a load(~$7500 for $500) of Drexel furniture (his wife loved it); and a pair of 4311 controll monitors; at get this 10.00 for the pair!!!
On coming to work today, he brought one, having said the elderly couple said they were "garage speakers". One mans trash is anothers prize? They're walnut 4311's excellent shape, no creases, the speaker cones look to be in great shape, with little to no yellowing. The foam on the LE25's is rotting, but no dimples. The mids are perfect as well.The tops and sides were painted black, but the bottom shows the veneered walnut. with minimal The speaker grilles are in excellent shape too, the black grill cloth has no defects, just needs to be cleaned with resolve.
Anyone out there have the correct faceplates for 4311's (his got spray painted black!), or alternately the correct artwork (scan of the face plates); in actual size; so we can get an Indigo printer to print a pair.
If we could all be so lucky huh??
Her hubby must be dead, surely he'd have never said 2 fins for the set!
