Hello all you crazy ass JBL diy'ers!!
We're about to finish up our second music control room. And I need some advice building the sub woofer to my system. The room is only 25 sq. meters.
The reason for going the PA route is that I want extreme levels. When mixing bass heavy music like hip hop and dance, I need a system that can deliver up to 120db. Plus I get "dance floor" levels for reference.
I haven't decided on the top system yet, but I think it'll be 2450SL + 2332 & one 2206H. Digital crossover.
There's some space restriction on the sub woofer size. Because it's going to be located under the console. 700m.m high, 800m.m wide and 1200m.m deep is maximum. Freq. resp. should be pretty flat from 30-120Hz. I will be sitting right in front of it as well....
After surfin' around here I have found some interested designs;
The Almighty 160kg monster
Triple bandpass
Is there any other crazy boxes you could build? 2242H? 2226's??
Or should I just go ahead and buy the new 4645C and call it a day?.... but that ain't just as fun
If you wanna talk studio gear; I'm a moderator HERE
