Hey Wayne,
Thanks. But, that's the one I already have. I need the schematic to the VFX2-A. My board has some - what I thin are proprietary resistor packs on it. The VFX2 doesn't have those.

Hi,
Does anyone have the schematic (or manual) for the Crown VFX2-A. I have the VFX2 schematic. But, I need the "A" version. The circuits are different with different components.
Thanks
The SPL/impedance graph that JBL lists for the 2446 is with the 2380A horn.
1. Would anyone happen to have the spl and/or impedance plots for the 2446/2395 combo?
if not

Hey Grumpy,
Thanks - and I agree - this should all be private. Normally, I avoid these kinds of posts. I just felt I was being portrayed as some neurotic wackjob and wanted to explain the...
Before I call it a day here. I'd like to leave a comment.
I'm getting the feeling that I'm being made out as being difficult or the bad guy in all this.
Because I was asked to give an...
Ok,
Here's the update on these things. I sent these guys bask to the distributor with a long letter and I finally got a full refund. Just yesterday, I receive a package from JBL with another 2 ...
Hi Mike,
Yea, I don't think I'll go after market. So, the D8R2405's are the new old stock ones? I'll have to keep an eye out. But, i don't recall seeing that part number on Ebay that often. Of...
Hi Mike,
Yes, both boxes say made in Mexico. The dates are written on the inside of the voice coil formers. The worse diaphragm has the date "5/12/11". The slightly better one has "28-11-11".

Hi Subwoof,
Right, I see that on the old diaphragms. But, there is nothing on the new ones on the phase plug side.
Steve
There's a guy selling a D16R2405 on EBAY:

Hi Mike,
I hadn't checked the polarity markings (hadn't gotten to that point yet). I just checked now and of course - there are none. What the heck is going on with JBL? Part of paying the...
Thanks Edgewound,
I will call the dealer first thing in the morning. If I feel like I'm getting the runaround, then I will go directly to JBL. I was very surprised myself at what they looked...
Here are the rest of the pictures from my previous post. It was tough to get in close for the shots. I think you can make out what I'm referring to.
If you guys deem these diaphragms defective,...
Hi All,
I was getting ready to install these guys and did a close inspection. I bought them from a supposedly reputable JBL dealer. Did I get screwed?
The issues are the voice coil glue...
What paint are you guys using to either touch up or totally repaint 2446's? There are some minor scratches on the back.
Thanks,
Steve
Actually Baron030 - After you remove the rear cover of the 2446, be careful with anything magnetic around the diaphragm. If your screwdriver is too close, it could unexpectedly get pulled toward and...
Hi Baron030,
Actually, it looks like an easy install. It just goes through and affixes to the cap. Then it connects to the diaphragm via wires. So, it looks like a pretty easy procedure. I've...
This time I have a repair question for a buddy of mine (who's slowly becoming a JBL addict as well). He has a 2446 with a broken binding post. The red plastic on top broke off and the spring is...
Thanks Sub,
Steve
Thanks 1audiohack & grumpy,
Yea - I was going to ask you guys if I should be using water or alcohol.
Steve
If anyone has a tip on the 2405H pre-installation cleaning of the voice coil and diaphragm, I would appreciate it.
I decided to try do the diaphragm replacements myself (hope the JBL...
I can't be sure. But to me it looks like the phase plugs might have twisted the diaphragms upon installation. I understand that when the screw is being tightened that holds the phase plug - if the...
Hey Doc,
To check if you have DC offset takes 2 seconds. But, you need a voltmeter that will measure millivolts (.001volts). Just remove the inputs and outputs from the amp. I forget if the...
Hey Doc,
I don't know if this is your situation or if this will help you or not. But, I had a similar annoying hum that developed once and it turned out to be my DC300A. I found that the DC...
Thanks Earl,
It looked like it wasn't as simple as just changing the horn assembly. Thanks for the info.
